Here's the breakdown:
Our MHAA teams shave a combined record of 15-6 after the first weekend of the tournament.

MH Lady Tornadoes (Girls Passers Division)
Coach Greg Schulman's Neon Green Lady Tornadoes have swept through the tourney like a whirlwind, winning their first 3 games by scores of 13-1, 2-0, and 1-0. this Saturday at 11:30am on field D, they play for top spot in their group against a team from Visitation, who is also 3-0. If the Lady Tornadoes win on Saturday, they will  be a top seed in the semi-finals on Sunday at 9:30am. If they lose or tie, it is possible that they will still qualify for the semis as the best 2nd place team, but that is complicated. If they make it to Sunday and win their first game, then they would play for the championship at noon on Sunday.

MH Dragons (Boys Passers Division)
Coaches Chris & Kathy Dossenback and Eric McAfee's Red Dragons have entered the tournament with a fire-breathing roar! They are 3-0 and sit atop their group after winning all of their games handily: 9-1, 9-0, & 7-0.  They will try to go 4-0 on Saturday at 10:45am on field E1. A win or tie seals first place in their group and a top seed in the semis on Sunday at 10:45am. If they go that far and win their semi-final, they will play for the championship at 1:15pm on Sunday.

MH Tornadoes (Boys Passers Division)
Coaches Mike Casagrande, Josh Hunstad and Chris Dossenback's Navy Blue Tornadoes have left a terrifying path of destruction behind them after the first weekend of the tournament! They are 3-0 and sit atop their group after winning all of their games: 11-1, 4-0, & 5-0.  They will try to go 4-0 on Saturday at 2:45pm on field E1 against the second place team in their group, St. John's. A win or tie seals first place in their group and a top seed in the semis on Sunday at 10:45am. If they go that far and win their semi-final, they will play for the championship at 1:15pm on Sunday.Note: There is a good chance that our two Boys Passers teams will face each other in the Semi-finals and a possibility they could play each other in the finals.

MH Wolfpack (Girls Wings Division)
Coaches Josh Hunstad, Dan Hall, Josh Feese, and Tracy Burgin have lead their Royal Blue Wolfpack with strength and confidence! They are 2-1 after the first weekend with wins of 10-0, 1-0 and a tough 3-1 loss. they are currently in second place in their group, but must win their final game on at 4pm on Saturday to ensure qualification for the semi-finals, which would be Sunday at 9am. If they get that far and win, the championship is Sunday at 12:30pm

MH Cobras - Red (Boys Wings Division)
Coaches Ryan Johnson & Joel Domoe's White Cobras coiled up and struck! With a paper thin roster of the minimum 9 players, the Cobras have worked super hard, with every boy playing every minute of every game they could get to. The Cobras played 2 of their three games a man down (8v9) and the third 9v9 with no subs. Nevertheless, they emerged unscathed with a 3-0 record and they sit atop their group, having won 5-4, 3-0 and 5-2! They play at 9:45am on Saturday on field C, but they have already booked their spot in the semi-finals on Sunday at 10:30am. If they win their semi-final, then they play for the championship at 2pm on Sunday.

MH Cobras - Blue (Boys Wings Division)
Coaches Brad Kent, Jeff Brandt and Chris Lape's White Cobras Came out striking, but tailed off with roster issues! The other cobras team also has a razer thin roster of 9 ( we need 3rd & 4th grade boys - pass it on!). With no subs, they won their first game 2-1. they had to play a man down (8v9) their second game and were defeated 7-1. The third game, they unfortunately had to forfeit because too many of their players had other obligations. They only had 5 rostered players, but those five did get to play a scrimmage as their opponent (St. Dominic) agreed to donate some players and have a practice game. That game went very well and our boys showcased their talent nicely! Cobras - Blue would need a small miracle to qualify for the semis, but they still have one game left Saturday at 12:15pm on field C. If they can pull out a win, they still have a small chance to qualify, depending on the results of the other teams in their group.

MH Barracudas (Girls Strikers Division)
Coaches Joel Domoe and Brenda McKeel's Light Blue Barracudas have been swimming through murky waters, but are starting to see more clearly. The girls are 0-3, but have improved every game, losing 6-0, then 4-1, then 2-1. They are still getting their bearings against some excellent teams and have been eliminated from contention, but have one final preseason tune-up on Saturday at 10:45am against an undefeated Visitation team.

Tournament Format
The preseason tournament is done in traditional soccer format, where each team is group with 2-4 other teams in the same division and each of those groups plays a round robin set (playing each of the other teams in their group one time). If they are in a small group, they may play crossover games with teams in other groups (same division). Every team in the tournament plays four games at least. Those four game take place the first weekend and the second weekend on Saturday. On the second Sunday (the final day), the top four teams in each division (the winners and maybe the second place teams from each group) play a single elimination format four team bracket (2 semi-finals & 1 final) for the championship. Teams that don't qualify top four in their division do not play on the last Sunday.
