Uxbridge Youth Soccer League's In-Town Program consists of our U4, U5, U6 and U8 Divisions, providing age-appropriate soccer experiences for children from 3–8 years of age (through grade 2).
The In-Town Program is geared toward teaching children basic soccer skills and fostering a lifelong love of the game. As participants advance through the divisions, they become more and more prepared for their eventual elevation into the Uxbridge Travel Program.
Using curriculum's provided by the New England Revolution Academy and Massachusetts Youth Soccer, our volunteer coaches teach our youngest players skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting and teamwork.
More advanced skills — such as offensive and defensive tactics, and the introduction of goalies — are added when participants are ready, and are primarily implemented within our U8 Transitional Division. The U8 Division moved away from the co-ed model, and players compete in a weekly 5v5 games against surrounding towns at a neutral location.
Games in this division are organized by Mendon-Upton Soccer League and played at the NEFC Complex in Mendon, Ma. As such, game dates and times are out of UYSL control and may be subject to change.
We anticipate Spring 2026 in-town practices will be held at the Sutton Street Complex (285 Sutton St., Uxbridge).
- Participants of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to register.
- All players are required to wear shin guards. Cleats are encouraged, though sneakers are accepted in our youngest divisions. (Ask about free cleat exchange!)
- All players should bring a water bottle and wear their UYSL-provided t-shirt.
Children older than 8 years and/or in grade 3 and beyond should register for the UYSL Travel Program.
