FAQ (updated Spring 2023)

When does the season start?

The spring in-town season runs for eight weeks with a start date on April 13th for U8 and 15th for U4-U6, and end date on June 10th.

When will I hear from the coach?

Coaches usually send an introductory e-mail a few days before opening day.  If you don't hear from them, no worries! We often have to shuffle teams around and recruit coaches up to the last minute.  Either way, we'll be there to check in players and direct them to their team.

When are the games?

The U5 and U6 teams play a small sided game at the end of every practice. The U8 teams play their games on Saturdays mornings between 9am-1pm.

Where are the practices and the games?

Practices are at Upper McCloskey field.  Saturday U8 games are at Mendon NEFC field (33 Cape Rd, Mendon).

Are uniforms provided by the league?

We provide a uniform for all In-town players. It consists of a t-shirt and shorts and is distributed opening day.

What equipment does my child need?

Shin guards are mandatory. Cleats are recommended but not required.  All players need to bring a water bottle.

Can I volunteer to coach my child's team?

Absolutely! UYSL is an all volunteer coaching staff so any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Do I need coaching experience to volunteer?

No, in fact if you have never played soccer you can still coach. There will be a coaches training before the beginning of the season, as well as two more during the season.  We provide the weekly curriculum.
