Revolutionary Changes Coming to UYSL In-Town and U-10 Programs

Big changes are coming to the Uxbridge Youth Soccer League. This Spring, the league will expand its partnership with the New England Revolution Academy to offer weekly hands-on training to players in its In-Town developmental league and U10 travel teams. The changes will help raise the confidence and skill set of all players and coaches involved, positioning the league for years of success.

Now, all practices, from U4 through U6 (Grades Pre-K-3 to Kindergarten) will be spearheaded by a professional New England Revolution Academy coach, with the assistance of a team of volunteer parent coaches. All players in a division will practice together to ensure they receive the same level of age-appropriate training.

Players in the U8 and U10 leagues (Grades 1-4) will also receive one training a week led by the New England Revolution Academy coach. The second training will be led by their own coaching staff to target unique game-time preparation.

The goal of this program is to ensure all players have the opportunity to develop the same level of skills under the expert guidance of a trained professional youth soccer coach. But the program will also provide coaches with the guidance they need to further develop their own coaching skills as they and their children advance to join UYSL Travel teams.

“We’ve enjoyed a long and successful partnership with the New England Revolution Academy and are thrilled to take this partnership even further,” said UYSL President Elect Ben Casper. “Having the expertise of the New England Revolution Academy leading every one of our developmental league practices is really going to set our program apart in the Blackstone Valley and give those children coming through our league a competitive advantage moving forward.”

This year, the Uxbridge Youth Soccer League celebrated its 40th anniversary. The league offers year-round soccer activities, including Fall, Winter, and Spring programs, summer camps, keeper training, and soccer clinics with the New England Revolution Academy.

You can sign up for spring soccer at uxbridgeyouthsoccer.com. The Travel deadline (U10-U18) is January 15th, and the In-Town deadline (U4-U8) is April 1st. An eight-week clinic will also be offered Friday evenings throughout the Spring for beginner and advanced levels.
